Expert & Senior level
KC303 Friday from 14:45 til 15:45

Twenty million members felt like a lot at the time, so did 50 million and 100 million. At each milestone the complexity of the system was also growing, which required more server resources and introduced more probability for failures. As Netflix approaches 150 million members, we realized that even linear computational growth would start to compromise the user experience. This session will cover patterns we’ve adopted that help us grow sub-linearly, which ultimately increased the reliability of the service.
